Haw Par Mansion

Formerly the private residence of Aw Boon Haw, famed merchant and founder of Chinese herbal salve Tiger Balm, the historic Haw Par Mansion and its accompanying ornamental “Tiger Balm Garden” was built in 1935, and was granted a Grade 1 historic building status in 2009. With the grounds now open for public enjoyment, architecture buffs will especially enjoy spotting the blended Western and Chinese construction details. Dive deeper into the building’s history with a guided docent tour, held from Friday to Sunday and during public holidays – be sure to book ahead of time to avoid disappointment.
